AIR-1: A Proud day for NITJ!

"Develop a passion for learning, if you do, you will never cease to grow" The best example of this would be the story of Naman Jaswani -GATE AIR-1.

When he was in his second year, he started to think about his future choices regarding his career. It was a tough call for him either to go for campus placements or to choose a competitive exam like CAT,GATE or GRE. But slowly and steadily he realised that GATE was his thing. It really inspired him that we had many previous year GATE toppers from our own college. He joined coaching classes in his 6th sem but he started studying effectively for GATE in the month of August 2017, that is 6 months prior to GATE exam. He devoted as many hours as he could for GATE preparation because it was tough to manage both college academics and GATE . He never wasted his time in useless stuff and from November onwards when winter vacation started,he used to give pretty much 12 to 13 hours a day.
For now his choice is Public Sector Undertaking(PSU) but later he may go for higher studies. His message for juniors who want to go for gate is :
“To my juniors I would like to suggest that better aim for First Rank .Break your studying limits without compromising food or sleep .Try to give your best in the online test series and be honest to yourself and to your parents.''
He had joined Engineers academy Jalandhar for classes during weekends. He also joined Madeeasy and Ace Academy online test series. According to him to join coaching classes for GATE or not it totally depends upon one's level of understanding. For him it was difficult to study by himself but he says one can do so without coaching also by quoting an example of his friend Ashok Kumar (AIR 60) he made it in top 100 from self study.
In the month of August 2017, he made a promise to his parents and himself that his time efforts will not go in vain, as he had previously failed to clear JEE advance despite of doing great hardwork. During his GATE preparation days, he used to watch previous year GATE topper's videos for motivation. He also used to watch cut scenes from movies like ''Bhaag milkha Bhaag ''. But the biggest support came from his parents. He said that everyone has his own unique strategy to study ,don’t copy it from someone ,it's better to find your own.
