Model United Nations (MUN) at NIT-Jalandhar

"Be the character, Hold the situation, Find a solution". Model United Nations, as an initiative to improve diplomacy, negotiation, critical thinking, compromise, reaction time, public speaking, writing, and research among students, proved to be highly beneficial. There were two rounds, first being the group discussion in which 20 students were shortlisted and divided into 10 countries. The second and the final round which w as the main conference itself had the following agenda,"Terrorism and its facets". It was a transformative experience in which all the participants engaged in serious, intense, and inspiring debate. After 3 hours of diplomacy, the delegates who emerged as winners were Dhruv Miglani, Akshay Sethi. With Utsav Jain, Bhanu Pratap coming in as runners-up. We congratulate Dhruv and Akshay on their win and hope this can further inspire more students to participate in this exciting event.

AIR-1: A Proud day for NITJ!

"Develop a passion for learning, if you do, you will never cease to grow" The best example of this would be the story of Naman Jaswani -GATE AIR-1. When he was in his second year, he started to think about his future choices regarding his career. It was a tough call for him either to go for campus placements or to choose a competitive exam like CAT,GATE or GRE. But slowly and steadily he realised that GATE was his thing. It really inspired him that we had many previous year GATE toppers from our own college. He joined coaching classes in his 6th sem but he started studying effectively for GATE in the month of August 2017, that is 6 months prior to GATE exam. He devoted as many hours as he could for GATE preparation because it was tough to manage both college academics and GATE . He never wasted his time in useless stuff and from November onwards when winter vacation started,he used to give pretty much 12 to 13 hours a day. For now his choice is Public Sector Undertaking(P

Alumni Interaction Program – ReUnite’18

The alumni interaction program was a post-lunch session organized as a part of ReUnite’18. Keeping in line with the tradition of past meets the session saw various alumni get together for an informal meet with students representing the various clubs and societies operating within the institute. This was followed by a faculty-alumni meet mainly to commemorate the achievements of the 1989-93 batch. The highlight of the alumni meet was the silver jubilee of 89-93 batch, which incidentally was the first batch of engineers produced by this august institute. The meet witnessed maximum participation from the alumni of this batch who came in huge numbers to attend the event. The student interaction began with a presentation by Prayaas society, who highlighted the efforts taken by the students and faculty to provide a decent education to the underprivileged students of the area. SIH comes to NITJ

Coding Club NITJ conducted the Workshop on SIH '19 which was witnessed by around 150+ students from the Institute. The event comprised of all the details and application procedure for Smart India Hackathon and motivated students to team up and participate in this event and come up with their ideas. The event was witnessed by Dr.R.K. Garg, President, Innovation Cell, NITJ, and Dr.Samayveer Singh, SPOC, SIH'19. The previous winners also shared their experiences. Regards, Coding Club, NITJ.

ISRO Incubation Center

“Nothing is impossible in this world.” A firm determination as it is said can move heaven and earth. So did our college and made the impossible happen. ISRO chose our college as the center to expand its scope of exploration. As ISRO's chairman Dr. K Sivan inaugurated the 2nd Space Incubation center through a video conference. Our director and Dr. P.V. Venkitakrishnan( Director, Capacity Building Programme Office, ISRO) by their valuable presence made this event worth re membering. Indeed it's a big moment for our college as well as for our country.
